The Role of Non-Coding RNA in the Brain

Raymond: I think a lot of people have done a lot of work showing that non-coding RNA is a lot of important stuff. We're the only people yet to have realized that the structure of this reaction network is like very special from a thermodynamic perspective. It's something like the file system is the operating system. Like the strands are the information and they're also just actively acting on each other. The reason it looks chaotic is so that you can compute by activation energy differences which is how you compute both fast and accurately. If it were software would have been an operating system or a file system I wonder.
