Emotions and Assent

Assent is the mechanism by which we tacitly say yea or nay to that imput. It is the moment of basic control in judgment, motivation, desire or aversion. Seneca explains it this way: "Emotion is thus a kind of voluntary action" We always see and assess from what ilosophers call an epistemic standpoint. As we said, we are not always free, spontaneously to choose those standpoints.
