Aegis commissioned the construction of a new Peloponnesian naval force of 100 Triremes. It was ordered to be ready for action the following spring, and the ships were to be built by themselves and their allies. Of note, the small number of Corinthian ships, 15, when compared to the 75 launched at the beginning of the war, may indicate just how severely Corinth had suffered in the last two decades. This reduced expectation on Corinth may suggest a financial repercussion to their exploits that Thucydides has left unstated.
