How to Support a Project Without Red Tape

GitHub.dev works out which open source projects your project depends on. You give it a budget every month and the engineers can vote on how much to spend. The maths comes out to about $120 grand per year, which is probably a sort of mid-level engineer. It's not some great solution, but I think it contributes to the effort at least. If everybody did this, there would be a significant amount more money coming into the projects.
