What Is Nature?
In the modern approach to nature there is a setting aside of things that before were very much prized and seen as kind of like a constitutive of our consideration of man. So when you go about then examining the human person with these philosophical tools you can begin to appreciate how your scope would be limited. We are only going to come up with answers that fall within that scope and you are going to dismiss as magical or otherwise trivial the things that fall without that scope. Instead we are just talking about stuff and force. That effectively exhausts our consideration of the matter at hand, this is typically the approach of the modern sciences.
