acetalopram indirectly activates 5-HT2A receptors if you're raising serotonin. With a psychedelic, you're more specifically targeting that one receptor in a more potent way. So there's something about that being more specific and targeted. Psilocybin has received breakthrough status from the FDA for the study of depression. Psychedelics are being looked at for many other conditions such as PTSD, I know, and anxiety and some other things as well.
