The Relationship Between the Port of Seattle and Washington State
The legislation that allows us to create ports in the state of Washington is fairly unique. So we are a totally separate jurisdiction from the city of Seattle, from King County. We're governed essentially by the legislation that the state legislature originally wrote. But as a result, we're more of a peer agency to the city and to the county.
