"I like to call stuffies loveys because I just feel like that just was something that I heard over the years and it just really made me think about these wonderful soft things that children can create connection with," she says. "So if I think of an after-school program you know if I've had a hard day at school but I'm taking care of a lovey I can begin to maybe give that lovey a name talk about some of that personality traits that lovey might have and how I'm going to take care of that lovey" She adds: "It really creates that empathy that we would love to see in children and also gives them a sense of security."
