Consumers Satisfaction - The Perverse Incentive

We are a consumer society that believes in the power of a magic pill. marty mc carey says there is a brutal paradox when it comes to measuring health outcomes, at least not helpful in the direction think it would be. A two thousand 12 study found that the most satisfied patients had higher rates of hospitalization and higher mortality rates. The authors suggest more satisfied patients may request more discretionary treatments, which may increase the likelihood of adverse effects.
