The Shamanoid Are Incredibly Important
Shamanoids have a monopoly on all communication with the outside world. You can never talk directly to a god and certainly not to the god. Once we settle or even have sea monomatic settlements, the shamanoids need to be brought into the community. At that means they build the whorehouses and monasteries. These are communities of shamanoid people that cannot live with others. Therefore, they're also scapegoated and thrown into the pagan lynch mob. They're often killed because they're different and they're odd in their outcasts. We take it on the shamanoids out there in the wilderness to talk to strangers on our behalf.
