Historiansplaining: A historian tells you why everything you know is wrong
The Sword Sticked in Stone
Galahad is raised in a nunnery, not by a sorcerer or sorceress, but in a christian convent. He engages his father launcelot, in combat and defeats him,. hence is knighted and becomes a member of the knights of the round table. When he comes to camelot, he is invited to take a seat called the siege perilous which can only be taken by the knight who will achieve the holy grail. The galahead story serves more as the culmination of the entire mythic cycle. And there are further writings about arthur and the round table in the 12 thirties, in what's called the post vulgate cycle.
