The default activity of the campaign, I just want to make clear, is exploration. So you can literally just venture out into the next hex and spend the time just searching the hex. The way that the mechanics would work is similar to hunting or fishing where you don't necessarily move anywhere. If you tell me that you're searching the hex rather than just traveling through it, it reduces your travel speed greatly, but it guarantees that you will find all the secrets within that hex. Now that's a huge gamble because it could lead to treasure,. It could lead to just finding cool things, or it could leading to evisceration by cold-fects.
