I was hungry not only for food, but also for a love and for care and nourishment. I wouldn't have a pillow like there'd be springs coming out of the mattress because the beds were so old. The bathroom was disgusting. No one would wash me. There's this this constant low level or high level fear and scare like fear about where is everybody? What's going to happen? So you can see it's just mess everywhere. Close everywhere. Nothing washed. Stuff in the sink. You know, men visiting, strange men coming in and out drinking with my parents, music blasting.
