What Does It Mean to Be an Author?
To be an authority to day in the academic world depends on documentation. And if you could wangle it that what you said was simply an extension of what moses said, then it's ok. To be original is likewise not to be freaki, but to speak from the origin. So when somebody speaks as an authority, that means speaks as the author. That's all it means. It's a statement for which you, of which you are the author. Therefore, for which you assume responsibility tat, is to speak with authority.
