Do You Need Straps on Heavy Dead Lifts?

I'm adding weight on an accessory exercise when i get four sets of the top of the rep range that i'm working in at any given point in a training block. Those rep ranges will range from six to eight, sometimes it's four to six. And ya, blake v a barker asks, are straps needed when you get to heavy weight on conventional dead lifts?
