The Decline of Bus Services in China

Bus station in Chidong has been on shaky financial ground for years. Owner, the Hongyang automobile transportation group, HATG, went bankrupt last January. In 2021, 42 passenger transport terminals were shut down in Guangdong Province alone. High-co-east station in capital of Hainan, China's southernmost province, shut down this April after three decades of operation.
