The Importance of Pay Restoration in General Practices
Junior doctors have announced another three-day strike in June after the government offered them just a 5% increase for this year. The BMA said the government has so far refused to accept the fundamental reality of pay erosion. LMCs felt these changes couldn't go ahead to the salary GP model contract on its own unless there was a guarantee of extra core funding for practices, they say. But GPs supported the safe working limit and the idea that pay should be restored across the profession.
