Astro Taylor: I think that one of the battles inside unions today is to deal with how race and gender have made unions undemocratic. He says it's an enormous problem trying to find unions that are working on leadership development, recruiting into the leadership people that resemble the workforce itself. Taylor: The university is going to be a central site in this battle moving forward.
