The Earth's Crass Is Like a Lot of Plates
The earth's crust is kind of like a bunch of plates. Plates can move next to each other or go underneath each other, that can form different types of ans. And then we also have volcanoes that can add to the different mountain building processes. Those tectonic plates move so slow, they're actually moving at the same rate that our finger nails grow - which ussess a couple of millimeters every few months. That's why it takes millions and billions of years for them to form the majestic mountains we know today.
