The 17th century seeks to erase the tracks of the individual. The 18th uses art to make propaganda for reforms, says Nietzsche. Utopia, the ideal man, the deification of nature are "gifts from the 18th century," he writes. And so we could see then a sort of parallel, again with the Lutheran Revolution, of the idealistic attempt to steal fire from the gods.
