The Relationship Between Gold Setting Theory and Goal Selling Theory

Gold setting theory is based on the assumption that specific, challenging goals are going to be most effective in comparison to other types of goal. But over the last ten to 20 years it's evolved into being much more context dependent. So once someone is essentially up to speed with a task, then specific challenging goals are fantastic. But if you're at the early stages of a new task, or it's a complex task ad youre still geting to grips with it, they advise a different type of goal instead. They refer to learning goals, which would be similar to things like finding five ways to increase your step count this week.
