The Horrors of Staten Island

Staten Island was home to several mental hospitals, facilities that had been known to breed tales of lost patients and disgruntled former workers. Out of these facilities came the legend of Cropsy, a homicidal madman who had once resided in one of these institutions. The stories vary with one version believing that he vanished into the nearby woods; another claims that he slithered into the sewer systems beneath Staten Island. But there was something else about Cropsey: He wasn't just burned all over his body, nor did he have a hook for a hand.
