People of all races joined in something that can't be faked. You see jim calling out other members, heeling em on the spot, fixing their problems. He usually knew what he could get away with, what he could pull off. It's not hard to see why, especially when you remember who a lot of these ople were. A disproportionate number of temple congregates were older black people who had come from the jim crow south. And they're nodding and cheering it and telling how just last week they had been healed. But sure enough, when you checked your electric bill, the power had been paid as promised from the pulpit.
