Even if you match sickle cell disease patients as perfectly as we can, even with minority donors that there is still a significant proportion of antibodies made. 30% of delayed hemolytic reactions in these antibodies could be considered by some severe or hyperhemolysis. And so basically what that brought us to say was, well, we are not yet at the end of the era of personalized medicine,. So why don't we try and make it for personalized medicine? Because serology helps us every day. It's very fast and expensive but it also helps us each day. We're just trying to find out where do we go from here?"
