Putin's First Full Term as President

Putin was inaugurated into his first full term as president after a little more than four months on the job. Four things really worked in his favor towards becoming one of the most popular leaders in Russian history. The international community had bristled at the brutality of Russia's campaign against Chechnya, but found themselves on the same side following 9-11. George Bush's foreign policy was so terrifying that the rest of the world was like, you know what I miss is a really strong and nuclear armed Russia to dampen American aggression.
