Vance says he wants to talk about a kind of poverty that is experienced by white people. But if you look at some of his other work, there are times when he trots out white poverty as sort of like a defense against claims of discrimination. So, it's like, don't use the welfare queen stereotype on black moms. Use it on everybody.
