Is There a Metaphysical Impossibility That I Could Have Different Parents?
David Chalmers is the philosopher who's given the most sophisticated necessarily in versions of the conceivably argument. He says there are some pretty serious problems with the simple version that I just laid out, but that the most serious problems can kind of be patched up with the more sophisticated to two-dimensional version of the argument. But yeah, I mean, that would be a whole complicated thing to get into. And so I always have a hard time with like conceivably and metaphysical possibilities. When it comes to like logical possibilities, I don't think I can conceive of a square circle, but I don't know that no one else could.
