The Gresham's Law of the Common Section
Gresham's law is an aphorism that says bad money crowds out good. If you don't do content moderation, editing, it's very difficult to keep common sections from getting really nasty and ugly. These startup macro mega comment section things, which Twitter is one, if you even remotely signal that you can have porn or Holocaust jokes on there, the people who love to post about porn and Holocaust jokes are going to flock to it. And so eventually, not only do the 98, you know, 95% of normals not engage in the comment section, they may actually just sort of leave all together.
