I agree with you that it's probably more important than people think. I would argue that it would be helpful if you learned how to code, and it wasn't distracted from mastery of your pursuit. The social aspect of remote work is one of the really unsolved aspects of it. And so that me, is also a skill that if you're a manager, or anyone else in this new environment,. i still struggle, after five plus years in a remote world, to communicate effectively sometimes.
People say that COVID was an accelerator, forcing trends that may have taken decades to develop, to instead take hold in much less time. Remote work was one of those trends. But we're not done yet!
