No one who speaks against him is willing to actually pull away his base. They feel like the Trump base is also their base, so they can't go against Trump. But in so doing, they're basically handing the election to him. I mean, why are you even spending your time, energy, and money running when you will not speak up and you won't defend yourself? So you might as well just hand it over.
