The Paradox of Life
Dominicans and Franciscans pertain to the same movement in the life of the church. The monastic movement kind of grew up in the desert of Egypt in like the third and fourth century. In the 12th century, there's this desire not only to remain home at the monastery but to bring the monastery as close as you could to city center. And then we're told that these orders had a lot to do with each other.
