Brooks Brothers is the oldest continually operating clothing company in America. Henry Brooks, who was a grocer, not a clothier, was part of this wave of retailers to make ready to wear clothes. This was the origins of kind of the modern shopping experience where you could go into a store, try something on and leave with something that day. And so many of the key players from Jay Press to Ralph Lauren are Jewish.
