St. John the Cross - Is There a Spiritual Gluttony?
The sins that we think we've left behind often resurface in new ways to present new challenges as we grow in the spiritual life. St. John the Cross presents this continual challenge where he opens up a sin like gluttony and says, well, there's a form of spiritual gluttony as well. And if we don't give up that spiritualgluttony and focus on God, we're not going to continue making progress.
