Developing an Antibiotic Order Set in the Emergency Department
This chapter discusses the development of an antibiotic order set in the emergency department (ED) to assist providers in diagnosing and treating infections. The order set was created in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and includes categories based on how emergency physicians think about diagnosis. The set not only provides empiric therapy options but also includes orders for various conditions and discharge scripts.
