In 19 29, magnavox opened up an assembly plant in chicago with the goal of shifting operations to the mid west. In 19 34, magna vox purchased a stake of ownership in a company called electro acoustic products located at york. The illustra vox was a combination phonograph and film projector that looked a lot like a record turn table smacked on top of it. It wouldn't produce consumer products for several more years.
