There is an overlap between the regimes described by gravity and thee regimes described by quanta mechanics. I don't think there's any right or wrong there at all. You just use whatever is most convenient for the situation you're in. Cavin says whenever i hear the word decoherence, i can help but think it's named backwards. A measured particle seems more coherent than an unmeasured one. Is it intuitive to think of decoherence as a process of becoming less coherent? Ah, yes that's perfectly fair. The reason we drew this analogy with decoherence is that issue of decolecidentality has been around since 18th century.
Welcome to the March 2022 Ask Me Anything episode of Mindscape! These monthly excursions are funded by Patreon supporters (who are also the ones asking the questions). I take the large number of questions asked by Patreons, whittle them down to a more manageable size — based primarily on whether I have anything interesting to say about them, not whether the questions themselves are good — and sometimes group them together if they are about a similar topic. Enjoy!
