I think that we are suffering from so much self-loathing after a couple of centuries of capitalism. Freedom has bred self-contempt because it has to give us a grim understanding of ourselves as insufficient. This is a time for... I'm trying to find a way to say this, but I have noticed in my birthdays this coming week, I'm going to be 89. It seems so hard. Sometimes it feels like my life's been for nothing or that I can't stand anymore. That what's happening is a tide of appreciation for myself. We deserve that and also to feel our earth loving us."
