How to Pick Stocks
I got my MBA, worked in corporate finance for a couple years and then I got a job with a consulting firm where we would advise institutional clients. There's a adrenaline rush when you buy something and it goes up and I thought I'm a stock picking genius. This is in 1995 and I am given the opportunity to start meeting with and researching professional money managers. Those have spent their full time investigating stocks. It was cool because I got great stock ideas but since I had had experience picking stocks and was successful at it I thought well if a professional could do it I would just get some of their ideas.
