"Prison was one of the best things that ever happened to me," says Am. "i felt more free in prison than i did being in the activist movement, doing whatever i wanted" He describes his time behind bars as 'boring' and a 'training ground for people who have no discipline' But he also credits it with helping him understand freedom doesn't come from doing what you want whenever you want.
