Optimism on Its Own Can Be Inert

If there's no confidence, if there's no optimism, you're just expending energy. So initiative on its own is frenetic energy. And so it's really the combination that makes up the self efficacious person. If you have an optimal level of that, you will, that adds to your drive quite a bit.
