Psychiatry Education - What Do You Do?

The biggest issue we have had in psychiatric education is that there has been no systematic way in which trainees have explored the conceptual and philosophical side of psychiatry. These questions have been left unaddressed. I think we have to tackle these problems head on. We have to discuss them.We have to critically analyze them. If we start doing that, asking these questions and getting people to think about them is a big first step and a necessary one. That's awesome. The next follow up question would be, as a faculty member, what do you do to ensure your graduates don't fit that caricature?
