The Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation Gets an 8% Stake in the Deal
Twenty-five banks in America and Europe have announced that they are not going to lend a single dollar or euro to this project, right? The lenders made their decision after pressure from environmental groups who said that climate change was far too serious of a concern to underwrite this project. In response, banks in China and South Africa have said, well, we'll fill it. We'll fill that void of the financial dollars needed. Plus the Saudi Arabian government, and I should say their Islamic Development Bank has agreed to step up as well.
