Does God Suffer?

I think the shapes our view of what divine mercy is, you know, I mean is God seeing us in our misery and so to speak taking it to heart. We're not going to be saved by mere humanity. We're going to be saving by that human nature who's been taken up by the divine log us,. And then offers that human nature, right in his divine person on the cross for our salvation. The question of does God suffer was a controversial issue, especially in the 20th century. Maybe we should save that for a follow up episode where we look at some of those issues and more in more detail.
