Creation’s Order and Symbolism

Humans are like trees. While this thought might not have been at the top of your mind this week, it was a key idea for the biblical authors. This is designed in such a way that you now start thinking in the metaphor, “Humans are trees.” … People are like trees, which means the future of humans—their origins and their destinies—are going to be linked in some way. We’re meant to wonder if the future of humans will be bound up with the future of trees.
