The European Central Bank's September Pause Is Possible
Underlying inflation needs to be firmly in retreat before the European Central Bank can consider pausing rates. Belgian central bank chief Pierre Wunch said a September pause is possible. ECB President Christine Lagarde warned that peak rates are still some way off. Italian Prime Minister Georgia Miloney's government has selected Fabio Panetta as the next Bank of Italy governor.
