The Impact of the Inflation Reduction Act on the Biopharma Industry
The inflation reduction act kind of moves us away from the momentum that we'd been building around outcomes based medicine for seemingly for so long. It doesn't necessarily undermine that, but I think in terms of what it did, it didn't really focus on patient outcomes. The mechanism is really letting Medicare negotiate directly with the manufacturer. So it is pushing us more to a single pay system that has arguably worked elsewhere in the world.
