Disengagement and dehumanization seems like the path that a person can take if they intentionally want to not be Empathic towards somebody else. How does a person become? actively develop a thought pattern in which they become more empathic other than loving-kindness meditation Which I think most people are not realistically going to do. We can try to down shift our empathy or we can even reverse it poker players, for instance.
