The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God
Mark introduces his account with the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Mark uses gospel with reference to what he is writing. In Isaiah chapter 40 verse 9 we read, Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion herald of good news. Lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem herald of good News.
