The Importance of Faith in the Reformation
In a letter to Calvin, Satello says the Reformation is an innovation with novel views and even heretical views that has led the Geneva's astray. In fact, when it comes to certain doctrines, we are actually more Catholic than you think, he writes. The key insight of the Reformers was correct: God's favor, mercy, salvation, come to us not through merit, but entirely through Christ's gift. But those who don't rely on their own merit will forfeit their own righteousness in Jesus' name.
