The Lesson of the Ukraine War Is the Salience of National Identity
I think that if the Russians could go back in time, them allowing Buka and other incidents entirely changed the dynamic. And this is another lesson of the Ukraine war, which is that this just the salience of national identity and willingness to fight. You hear different things about the Taiwanese that they don't want to fall under Chinese communist control. The question is how resolute are they? I wouldn't take any chances.
